This group is for individuals with autism and Asperger's who are 18 years or older. We meet once a month at the Regional Center and then have a once a month social activity. We have visited museums and art galleries, gone bowling and to the movies, among many other activities and are always looking for new experiences. I decided to start this group because my son who has Asperger's is having a difficult time adjusting socially. He needs social interaction with other teens who are experiencing the same challenges that he is facing. The purpose of the group is to provide social interaction for Asperger teens and also to provide support for parents of those teens. Who should join: Parents of teens with Aspergers and Teens with Aspergers between the ages of 15-19 years old.
Loma Linda University, Center for Health Promotion has a Wholistic Medicine Clinic that treats children and adults for chronic conditions: asthma, allergies, autism, ADHD, irritable bowel, chronic fatigue, fibromyalga, etc. We are a consulting clinic and not a primary or accute care facility. I hope you like dolphins, Lasers, Lego's, Star Wars, video games, movies and many other things- because here at the Great Asperger's homeschool Group the kids have a say in what our meetups are about! Parents, Talk to your kids and ask them what they would like to do or where they would like to meet, and post it on our suggestion board.
